I'm so confused about how much to shave the day before laser hair removal since it's my first time lol

I'm planning to get my first laser hair removal consultation this week, but I don't even know how to prepare.

Some people around me say I should leave some hair, while others say I should shave it clean, so I'm confused about what's right lol.

I'm thinking of starting with underarm laser hair removal.

I usually shave with a razor, but since I shave so often, my skin stings and sometimes I get small cuts.

So I'm worried that irritating my skin by shaving the day before laser hair removal might actually affect the procedure.

Do people usually shave the evening before laser hair removal and get the treatment the next day?

I'm also wondering if shaving on the morning of the same day could make my skin too sensitive.

Also, I heard that I should avoid waxing or plucking with tweezers before laser hair removal, so I'm wondering how long beforehand it's best to stop doing them.

I have a habit of sometimes plucking hairs with tweezers that the razor can't catch, so I think I need to stop now haha.

Is it better not to apply body lotion or deodorant on the day of laser hair removal?

It feels a bit awkward to go straight to work without applying anything to my underarms, so I'd like to know about this in advance as well.

I am also wondering if it is possible to tidy up the shave on-site to some extent even if I don't shave very cleanly.

Since it's my first time, I want to avoid a situation where I can't get the procedure on my scheduled day because I prepared incorrectly haha.

For those of you who have had laser hair removal multiple times, do you now have a routine for getting ready the day before?

Please also let me know if there are any ways to reduce skin irritation when shaving.
