For those of you who have received laser treatment for acne scars, does your skin texture really improve?
I used to have a period where I suffered from severe acne, but now I hardly get breakouts anymore; instead, I have scars and red marks left behind. Makeup covers them up to some extent, but when I look up close without makeup, my skin surface isn't smooth and looks bumpy, which constantly bothers me. Especially under lighting, my pores look bigger and pitted scars stand out, so I find myself zooming in on my skin whenever I take photos. That is why I am looking into laser treatments. Since there seem to be various types like Fraxel, I'm not sure which one is right for my skin. I know that scar lasers aren't a one-time solution and require multiple sessions, but I'm curious how many sessions are needed to see noticeable changes. Also, I've heard that the redness lasts a long time after the procedure, so I'm worried about whether I can get treatments while working. I want to know if it's possible to get the treatment on the weekend and go back to work on Monday, or if I should allow for a recovery period of a few days. Since my skin tends to be sensitive, I'm also concerned about hyperpigmentation if I receive a strong laser. For those who have actually received laser treatment for acne scars, I'd like to know what kind of treatment you received and after how many sessions you noticed a change. I don't expect the scars to disappear completely; I would be satisfied if my skin texture just became a little smoother when I wear makeup. Is it okay to aim for this level?
