Is laser treatment okay for freckles and age spots on the sides of my cheeks during periods of high UV exposure?
Even though I have been paying attention to my skincare lately, I am very worried because melasma and age spots have appeared on the sides of my cheeks and seem to be spreading. As the blemishes increase, they are not easily covered even with makeup, and my skin looks dull, which is lowering my confidence. So, I am looking into laser treatments for blemishes at a dermatology clinic, but I am concerned about whether it is safe to receive the procedure during a time like this when UV rays are strong.
I am hesitant because I’ve heard that pigmentation can darken or the skin can become sensitive after the procedure during the summer when UV rays are strong. However, I am also anxious about just letting my blemishes spread. Has anyone had laser treatment for blemishes during the season with strong UV rays? It would be very helpful if you could share your experiences regarding post-procedure care—such as whether it was difficult, or if there were any specific precautions to take regarding UV protection or lifestyle habits.
