Is the melasma treatment effective for pigmentation that shows through even with makeup?

Lately, the pigmentation around my cheeks isn't covered as well with makeup as it used to be, so I am looking into melasma treatment.

If I apply the cushion thinly, a brownish tint shows through, and if I apply too much, my skin feels stuffy and looks thick, so it is stressful to have to cover it up every day.

My entire cheek looks dull rather than just a single spot, so it is difficult to decide whether to use concealer. Even in this case, can I expect a melasma treatment effect?

I am also wondering if it is correct to think that receiving melasma treatment will cause the pigmentation to gradually fade rather than disappear completely.

I also want to know how many sessions of melasma treatment I need to receive to notice a difference when applying makeup.

Rather than making changes too quickly, I would like to manage it slowly within a range that puts minimal strain on my skin.
