Is the melasma treatment effective even if my skin is on the dry side?

I would like to get treatment for melasma, but my cheek skin is quite dry, so I am worried that the laser might be too much of a burden.

After washing my face, my cheeks feel tight, and on days when I'm not feeling well, I tend to get a little flaky. At the same time, I notice a faint brownish tint around my cheeks, so I'm also concerned about managing my skin tone. I'm worried that if I undergo a pigmentation procedure while my skin is dry, it might become even more sensitive.

Can I see results from melasma treatment even on skin like this?

I am wondering if there are cases where moisture or the skin barrier condition is stabilized first before melasma treatment. I would also like to know if I need to pay more attention to moisturizing than usual after treatment. I would also like to inquire if the treatment interval or intensity is adjusted differently for people with dry skin.
