Is the melasma treatment effective even for skin that reddens easily?

I suspect I have melasma around my cheeks and am looking into treatments, but I am worried because my skin tends to redden easily. If I wash my face for a little too long or use exfoliating products, the sides of my nose and cheeks turn red quickly, and on days when I am not feeling well, even the cosmetics I normally use sometimes feel stinging.

But I'm starting to get increasingly worried about the pigmentation, so it's hard to just not do any care.

Can I expect melasma treatment to be effective even on such sensitive skin?

I am wondering if it is possible to start with a lower intensity when receiving melasma treatment for the first time, while monitoring the skin's reaction.

I would like to know how long redness or heat sensation may persist after melasma treatment, and I would also like to inquire if I need to allow a longer recovery period if my skin is sensitive.
