Why does the area under the eyes look dark? How do you distinguish between pigmentation and shadows?

Scheduled branch to visit: Maypure Gimpo Janggi Branch

I am curious how to distinguish whether the dark under-eye area is due to pigmentation or shadows forming in sunken areas. Since the same face can look different under ceiling lights or by a window, it is difficult to choose a treatment based solely on photos. Rather than lumping everything together under the label "dark circles," I would like to be explained the specific cause first.

I am curious if the consultation examines not only skin tone but also the thickness and contour of the under-eye area, as well as how it connects to the surrounding cheeks. Should I mention the areas that appear brown and those that look bluish separately? I would like to know if you can distinguish them by examining them in person, even if I cannot describe the colors accurately. I am also struggling to explain how best to describe the feeling that I look tired.

I'm worried that if I increase the brightness or edit the photos, my original appearance won't be clearly visible. Would it be helpful to take frontal and profile shots without makeup? I'm also wondering if it would be good to show how the shape of my under-eyes changes when I smile versus when I have a neutral expression. Rather than deliberately looking for the darkest lighting, I'd like to show my usual look.

If there is a combination of causes, I would like an explanation of how much improvement can be expected from a single treatment. I do not think it is advisable to blindly choose pigmentation management just because I am concerned about the color, or to immediately select a volume-filling method simply because it looks like a shadow. I would also like to be guided to distinguish between areas that are difficult to change with procedures and those that can be addressed through daily lifestyle changes.

Should I mention the cosmetics I use around my eyes or my habit of rubbing them frequently during the consultation? If we need to determine if my skin is sensitive first, I do not want to rush the decision regarding the procedure. Regardless of the method I consider, since this is an area close to the eyes, I want to make a decision after fully hearing about precautions, possible side effects, and how to contact them if I experience any discomfort.

I would like to first ask if it is possible to consult at the Gimpo Janggi branch regarding concerns about dark under-eyes. Rather than recommending a specific procedure, I think it is more important to first understand why they look that way in my case. I am wondering if it would be acceptable to have a consultation first and then take the time to compare the available options. It is easy to think that simply covering them up with concealer is enough in photos, so I would like to know what criteria are used during an actual consultation.
