It was my first time getting a dermatological procedure, and it was better than I expected.
I had always been interested in dermatological procedures, but I had never actually tried them. The thought of getting injections or laser treatments on my skin felt a bit scary, and I kept putting it off because I was worried my skin might break out if I got it done incorrectly. However, lately my skin has been dry and dull and my makeup hasn't been applying nicely, so I finally decided to give it a try.
I was unnecessarily nervous right up until I made the appointment and went, but once I actually had the consultation, I felt a bit relieved because the atmosphere wasn't like I had expected where they just blindly recommended this and that. I talked about my daily habits and the areas where I feel uncomfortable, and they examined my skin condition to explain what procedures were necessary. I felt that this process was more important than I had initially thought.
I did feel a bit of a stinging sensation during the procedure, but it finished faster than I expected, and they checked in periodically to see if I was okay, so I felt less nervous. When I looked in the mirror afterwards, my face was slightly red, so at first I wondered if I should have done it, haha. But after I got home and rested, the redness gradually subsided.
On that day, I avoided hot water and irritating products and followed the instructions for my skincare routine. I felt slightly sensitive until the next day, but it wasn't significantly uncomfortable, and my skin calmed down after a few days. What I was most satisfied with was my skin texture. It wasn't a dramatic change, but when I touched my skin after washing, it felt less rough.
