Are the symptoms or treatments for adult acne different?

I'm curious about the difference between adult acne and acne that occurs during puberty. I usually thought of acne as just similar skin troubles, but are the causes and symptoms of acne that develops after adulthood slightly different? I'm also wondering if the treatment approach needs to be different from that of adolescent acne. I didn't really think there would be a distinct difference when it came to just "acne." However, looking at the posts I see, it seems adult acne is referred to somewhat differently. I would like to know how treatment is conducted at a dermatology clinic, and I'm also curious if adult acne can improve with just proper care. If anyone is knowledgeable about the differences between the two types of acne or their treatment methods, I would be very grateful for your help.
