I am curious about the causes and treatment methods for recurring acne specifically around the philtrum!
Hello. I am writing to inquire because I am stressed lately due to acne that repeatedly appears specifically around my philtrum.
Other areas of my face are relatively calm, but strangely, red and painful pimples periodically pop up only on my philtrum or along the line under my nose. Thinking it might be because I wear a mask often, I switched to a dental mask and took thorough care of my skin, but the breakouts keep recurring in the same spots. Perhaps because the skin on my philtrum is thin, the red marks or scars linger for a very long time after I squeeze them, making me upset every time I look in the mirror.
I feel that home care has reached its limit, so I am writing this to seek help from a dermatologist.
I would like to know if there is a specific cause for the acne appearing in this area, and how dermatologists typically treat it, such as through extraction, scaling, or laser therapy. I would also appreciate your advice on how to manage the condition to prevent scarring. I know you are busy, but I look forward to your reply!
