My skin wasn't originally prone to severe breakouts, but over the past few days, large, painful pimples that feel lumpy deep inside have started popping up one after another. They sting and ache so much that I can't even touch them, and when I lightly feel them with my hand, there is a hard lump under the skin.
If it had festered yellow on the outside, I could have at least squeezed it, but since it was swollen only on the inside, I couldn't even bring myself to do it. Just when I thought it was subsiding somehow, red and dull marks would inevitably remain, leaving my face all patchy.
I've tried disinfecting, using acne patches, and diligently applying soothing products, but it seems like home care alone simply isn't enough for the major breakouts already deep inside.
I figured visiting a dermatologist is the answer, so I looked it up and found that for this kind of thing, you need an anti-inflammatory injection or professional extraction. I am wondering if it definitely subsides quickly and if there are any side effects like pitting.
Also, please advise if it would be better to receive laser treatment or other aftercare treatments along with extraction to prevent red marks or scars from forming!
