Should I be careful with the Pico Toning cycle if I have melasma?
I am writing to inquire because I am curious about how the Pico Toning cycle is determined for skin with melasma. I have brown spots on my cheekbones that look like melasma, but I am not exactly sure if they are blemishes or melasma.
Makeup covers it up to some extent, but over time, the dullness comes back, making my whole face look tired. I'm looking into Pico Toning because I heard it's widely used for pigmentation management, but I'm worried because I read that if you have melasma, receiving a treatment that is too intense can actually make it darker.
Do you tend to be a bit more cautious with the Pico Toning cycle for skin with melasma? I am wondering if it is possible to start with a low intensity and observe the response.
Besides sun protection and moisturizing, are there any other things I should pay attention to to prevent pigmentation from worsening while receiving Pico Toning? I would also like to know if you determine during the consultation whether the spots are melasma or blemishes before creating a treatment plan.
