Is the melasma treatment effective on pigmentation that appears after childbirth?

I didn't used to be very concerned about the pigmentation on my cheeks, but at some point, light brown areas started appearing on my cheekbones and cheeks, so I am looking into melasma treatment. It seems like the pigmentation has become more visible after changes in my skin condition or lifestyle, but I don't know the exact cause.

I am also wondering if it is correct to start with laser treatment unconditionally, given that melasma can be caused by various factors.

Can I expect effective melasma treatment even in this case?

I would also like to know if I need to confirm whether the current pigmentation is actual melasma before starting melasma treatment.

I am curious if melasma treatment methods vary depending on skin condition and the depth of the pigmentation, and I would like to manage it in a way that is not too irritating, taking into account the possibility of recurrence.
