How many Pico Toning sessions does it take for the melasma spread widely across my cheekbones to fade?

For the past few years, faint melasma has spread widely above my cheekbones, and lately it is difficult to cover even with makeup, so I am looking into Pico Toning. Since this is my first time getting a laser treatment, I started by thoroughly searching for reviews.
This was what was frequently cited as a strength in the reviews.
① The pain is minimal because it only stings slightly even without anesthetic cream.
② Many people say that they received the treatment during their lunch break and went straight to work because there were almost no scabs or bruises.
③ I felt my complexion becoming clearer and the tone becoming more even starting from around the 3rd to 5th session.
However, I was cautious because there were reviews saying that there isn't much change after just one or two sessions and that you need to receive it consistently since it is cumulative, and that if the intensity isn't right, it could actually have an adverse effect.
So, I’d like to ask you something I’m curious about.
① Based on widespread melasma, how many sessions or at what intervals are usually received?
② For areas with dark blemishes, do I need to use a different laser in addition to toning?
③ Is it okay to continue using Vitamin C or whitening cosmetics during the treatment period?
