My entire cheek has become dark and dull. Can laser treatment lighten widely spread pigmentation as well?

Hello. I am an office worker over seventy.
When I looked in the mirror at home this evening, I noticed that my skin from my cheekbones to my cheeks was generally dark and patchy. I am attaching a photo.
I previously inquired about age spots, but this time I am asking separately because the color is spread widely rather than appearing as a mole.
I am wondering if pigmentation that has spread so widely can be lightened with a laser, and if the treatment method is different from that for age spots.
Given my age, I don't think it will be enough to finish in just one or two sessions. I would like to know how many sessions are usually required and what the intervals are.
I would also like to ask if my face turns red or scabs form after receiving it, making it noticeable when I go to work.
I am exposed to sunlight during my commute even in winter, so I would appreciate it if you could let me know if there are any specific precautions I should take while maintaining it. Please reply.
