How long should the treatment cycle for melasma be?

I am an office worker who feels upset every time I look in the mirror recently because of the faint blemishes and pigmentation on my cheekbones. I used to think that simply applying sunscreen regularly would be enough, but it seems to be getting darker over time, which is really bothering me. Since it doesn't cover well even with makeup, I am now seriously looking into melasma treatment.

From what I've heard from acquaintances, melasma treatment isn't a one-time fix; the key is consistent management. That makes me feel lost regarding what precautions to take when first starting, and how to incorporate home care into my daily routine while keeping melasma treatment in mind.

Since I have to visit the clinic while working, I am most curious about the typical frequency of visits for treatment. I would like to ask for advice from those with experience on whether I should visit intensively for a month or two and then stop, or if I need to visit regularly over the long term. If you have personally experienced melasma treatment and have any tips or advice regarding an appropriate treatment schedule, please feel free to share them! Thank you.
