My acne keeps recurring. Would it be better to get professional acne treatment rather than managing it at home?

여드름이 계속 반복되는데 집에서 하는 관리보다 여드름 피부관리를 받아보는 게 나을까요?

Lately, it feels like there are more days when I'm worried about my skin than days when it's okay.

My skin condition is so erratic; it stays quiet for a while, then suddenly multiple breakouts pop up, and just when I think it has subsided a bit, they appear again. In the past, I thought it would be fine if I just applied a soothing mask and washed my face thoroughly whenever something went wrong, but now that the same pattern keeps repeating, I feel like there is a limit to how much I can manage it on my own.

I've really tried changing my cosmetics a lot, haha.

I've tried products that claim to be gentle, products that are good for sebum control, and even simplified my skincare routine, but no matter what I used, I didn't feel like there was a dramatic difference. In fact, sometimes I wonder if my skin has become more sensitive because I've switched things around too much.

So lately, I've been thinking about getting proper acne skin care.

What I am most curious about is whether receiving acne treatment only clears up existing breakouts, or if it is possible to manage the condition in a way that also reduces the frequency of new breakouts.

I feel like if things just get better for a while and then go back to how they were, I'll end up having the same worries forever.

It seems there are various treatments available, such as extraction, sebum control, and soothing care. I am also curious if, during the initial consultation, they assess your current skin condition to determine what is needed on that day.

Also, would it be okay to try it once and check my skin's reaction before deciding whether to continue?

Planning multiple sessions right from the start feels a bit overwhelming, so I want to see how my skin responds to acne care first.

I am also curious about how much redness or marks remain after the treatment. Since I have to wear makeup almost every weekday, I would like to know how natural it will look by Monday if I get the treatment before the weekend.

For those of you who have consistently received acne skin care, at what session did you feel your skin became more stable than before?

I'm not expecting them to stop appearing completely, but I think I would be satisfied if the frequency of them dropping just decreased compared to before.

If there are any of you who tried home care but eventually started getting treatments at a dermatologist, I'm curious to know what the differences were compared to doing it alone :)
