Is the acne treatment effective for someone receiving it for the first time?

I haven't had severe acne so far, so I've rarely received professional care. However, recently, I've been seeing recurring bumps and sebum around my nose and cheeks, so I am looking into acne treatment for the first time.

I searched online and found there are various methods like extraction or peeling, so I don't know what to do first given my condition.

My nose tends to be oily while my cheeks are dry, so I am concerned about whether it is okay to treat my entire face the same way. Can someone just starting out expect effective acne treatment?

I am wondering if it is possible to assess my current skin condition before acne treatment and select only the essential care. Is it also possible to receive a treatment once to check my skin's reaction before deciding on the next course? Rather than starting with harsh methods from the beginning, I would like to begin slowly with less burdensome approaches.
