Inquiry about itchy skin

I have a question about itchy skin. My skin is itchy all day and keeps getting thicker. I'm wondering if there are any treatments or medications that can help with this.

I'm using ice packs and other temporary measures to relieve the itchiness at home. Will I get better if I get treatment? Also, if I get a prescription, I'm wondering if you'll prescribe an antihistamine.

If you could tell me what treatment would help with my itchy skin symptoms, that would be a huge help. I want a complete cure, not just temporary relief!!! By the way, I'm an adult.
