This is my first visit to a dermatology clinic, so I'm curious about the consultation process.
I am planning to visit a dermatologist for the first time, but I don't know where to start, so I am asking for advice.
I'm not really looking for a specific procedure; rather, I want to check my overall skin condition and establish a management plan. I don't have severe breakouts, but I'm concerned about my pores and skin texture, and lately my skin tone seems duller than before. I used to think dermatologists were places you only went to when you had a specific problem, but I've heard that many people go these days for regular checkups as well.
I am curious about the process: when I visit for the first time, is a consultation or skin analysis done first, or does it proceed directly to a treatment? I am also wondering if you suggest a suitable treatment plan if I explain my skin concerns.
It’s not exactly an urgent or serious concern, but I’d like to know if it’s okay to visit in this case and if there is a separate consultation fee. I’d like to get a heads-up without feeling pressured.
