I'm worried about skin irritation from razors. Is the satisfaction level with laser hair removal really high?

I have been shaving my underarms and legs with a razor, but I keep getting ingrown hairs and redness, so I am very cautious. With summer approaching, I am looking into semi-permanent methods this time. I read reviews and everyone says it’s a game changer, so I am posting this to find out what the actual satisfaction level is like for laser hair removal. The cost is one thing, but I also don't have the time because I heard that I need to visit a dermatologist regularly at least 5 to 10 times. I am also worried about whether the procedure is very painful, and whether my skin might become drier or if there are any side effects afterward. I have heard that people with thicker or more abundant hair tend to be more satisfied with laser hair removal, but can someone with sensitive skin like me still achieve satisfactory results without any issues? I would appreciate any tips on what to look for when choosing a laser method to ensure satisfaction.
