I keep getting breakouts on my chin ㅠㅠ Would I be a good candidate for acne treatment?
Hi. Now that I'm in my mid-30s, I'm going crazy because I keep getting adult breakouts that I didn't even get in my teens. Maybe it's because of the severe work stress and constantly putting on and taking off my mask lately, but I keep getting hard, painful pimples especially around my mouth and on my chin. Since I can't leave them alone and keep touching them with my hands, I've ended up with scars and even hyperpigmentation, so I just sigh every time I look in the mirror. I've tried applying patches and ointments that are supposed to be good, but as expected, there are clear limits to home care.
I finally decided I couldn't let it go on like this, so I’ve made an appointment at a clinic to get professional acne treatment. I read through all the community reviews, and I realized there is a much wider variety of treatments than I thought, ranging from lasers that completely destroy sebaceous glands to scaling that dissolves old dead skin cells. My main types of breakouts are small, bumpy like millet seeds or hard, embedded blemishes that won't pop, rather than large, pus-filled pimples. I'm really struggling to decide which procedure would be the most effective for me.
Are there any of you out there who, like me, suffered from adult breakouts around your chin or mouth but found relief after receiving acne treatment? Haha. I've heard that sebum-controlling lasers are very effective, but since my skin is so thin and sensitive, I'm worried if I'm even a good candidate for this treatment. ㅠㅠ I saw reviews saying that extractions are so painful they bring tears to your eyes, so I'm already super scared. Haha. I'm going for a consultation after work this week, and I'm really hoping the doctor will create a treatment plan that is perfectly suited to my skin condition. ㅠㅠ If you have any great tips, please share them freely in the comments!
