Now that I have entered my 30s, I am extremely worried about acne that presents a different pattern compared to my 20s. While the acne I had during my adolescence and early 20s was mainly caused by excess oil, now that I am in my 30s, my skin is dry, and I repeatedly get hard, painful, red adult acne breakouts around my chin, mouth, and cheeks.
My skin is gradually becoming drier, and while I want to apply plenty of moisturizing cream, new breakouts immediately appear at the slightest hint of oiliness, making the selection of basic skincare products a major source of stress. Furthermore, perhaps because my skin regeneration speed has slowed down now that I am in my 30s, acne marks and hyperpigmentation often do not easily disappear even after several months, leaving behind permanent scars.
Changes in my condition, such as stress or lack of sleep, are directly reflected on my skin, leaving me feeling exhausted. My skin feels dry on the surface yet tight underneath, making it really difficult to maintain a proper oil-water balance. I use non-irritating sunscreen and a gentle cleanser, and I pay close attention to hydration, but if you have any tips on how to effectively manage adult acne in your 30s, please share them!
