What treatment would be helpful for persistent adult acne?
I hardly had any acne when I was a student, but strangely, it has gotten worse since becoming an adult... It keeps popping up, especially on my chin and lower cheeks. One disappears, and another pops up; it really feels like there is no end to it.
I thought makeup would cover it up, but instead, the dead skin cells are flaking and the skin is bumpy, making it seem even more noticeable. It bothers me for no reason, so I keep looking in the mirror. I know I shouldn't touch it, but my hand reaches out without me realizing it, and it ends up leaving marks... I think that's actually more stressful.
I've tried going to bed earlier, drinking plenty of water, and switching to various cosmetics that are supposed to be good, but the relief is only temporary and the breakouts keep coming back. I was wondering if I should go to a dermatologist, so I looked it up and found there are so many options like extractions, lasers, anti-inflammatory injections, and scaling, but I have no idea what's right for me.
Are there any others out there who have suffered from recurring adult acne like me? I'm curious about what treatment you received and how many sessions were needed to see results. I'm worried that I might just be wasting money without seeing any effect... I'm also more bothered by the marks and redness than the acne itself, so I'm wondering if they can be treated together. If you have any reviews, please share them.
