Acne keeps popping up on my chin and around my mouth. What should I do?
Hello, I am a male office worker.
I rarely had trouble with acne during my school days, but lately, strangely enough, red, painful, hard pimples keep popping up one by one along my jawline, around my mouth, and under my cheeks.
At first, I just brushed it off, thinking I was getting one or two because I was tired. However, as soon as one subsided, a new one would pop up right next to it. Perhaps because they were irritated every time I shaved, they kept bursting and oozing. Even though I knew I shouldn't touch them, they bothered me so much that I ended up fiddling with them. As a result, they left red marks and unsightly discoloration that looked like scars, leaving my face all patchy and blotchy.
I've been taking good care to wash my face gently, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I'm not sure if I need to change my skincare products, or if I should go to a dermatologist to get extractions or anti-inflammatory injections.
I am curious to know what kind of care or treatment was effective for those of you who, like me, suddenly started getting breakouts around your chin or mouth after becoming adults.
