The red mark next to my nose doesn't go away easily.
I don't know when it started, but red marks have appeared around my nose and they aren't going away. At first, I thought they were just traces of acne or pimples, but they remain even after quite some time has passed. The sides of my nostrils and the sides of my nose are particularly red, and the color seems to get darker when I wash my face or when it gets even slightly warm.
Makeup covers it to some extent, but the redness reappears over time, which bothers me. My skin is on the sensitive side, so I avoid irritating products, but there hasn't been any noticeable change.
Are these red marks around the nose a different issue from simple pigmentation? I am wondering if it could be flushing caused by dilated blood vessels. What tests does a dermatologist use to differentiate the cause, and can it improve with vascular laser treatment or flushing therapy? I would also like to ask the hospital staff if skin that repeatedly turns red can improve with consistent treatment.
