How long do I need to wear Duoderm after mole removal?

I had some small moles and blemishes on my face removed with a laser two days ago! The hospital told me to apply a Duoderm bandage until the discharge stops, but how many days do people usually keep it on? It's only the second day, but it has already swollen up and turned very white. I'm confused whether I need to change it to a new one every day, or if it's better to just leave it on until the discharge overflows to prevent scarring. I would appreciate any tips from someone who knows about this!
