How long should I expect the recovery period to be after under-eye fat repositioning surgery?
I have always had severe dark circles, but as I have gotten older, the fat under my eyes has bulged out and cast shadows, causing me to hear every day that I look tired and sick. It has gone beyond the point where concealer can cover it, so I am seriously considering fat repositioning surgery, which involves making an incision inside the conjunctiva to flatten the fat. Since the surgery involves working near the eyes, I expect the swelling and bruising to be severe, so as a working professional, I have no idea how much vacation time I would need to take. I am wondering if I can resume normal daily activities—such as having surgery on Friday and going straight to work on Monday to use a computer with glasses on—or if I need to rest at home for at least a week. The hospital says I will recover quickly, but I would like to hear realistic stories about the recovery process from those who have gone through it as patients.
