It started itching on my ankle, and then a red rash appeared on my skin.
I am posting this because I am worried about a rash that suddenly appeared on my skin.
I was fine until yesterday, but suddenly one part of my body started itching really badly.
I applied some ointment I had at home and went to sleep, but when I woke up this morning, the itchy area had turned red.
The itching is still there, and it bothers me even if it just brushes against my clothes, so I find myself constantly looking at it for no reason.
At first, I thought I was bitten by an insect, but looking at the shape, it looks like a rash, so I am even more worried.
In this case, will it get better if I just keep applying ointment consistently and wait a few more days? Or would it be better to visit a dermatologist early on for an accurate diagnosis? If anyone has experienced similar symptoms, I would like to know what the cause was, how long it took to improve, and what ointment or medication was used.
Please let me know if there are any maintenance methods that should absolutely never be done.
I am trying my best to hold back from scratching because I'm afraid it might get worse, but I would like to hear your experiences and advice on whether this type of skin rash often improves naturally.
It's still itchy to this day...
