How long does it take for hair to regain strength?

My hair is thinning at the crown and along my part, and I'm losing more hair when I wash it, so I'm planning to get hair loss treatment. How much hair does everyone else lose when they wash it? It really feels like a handful falls out.

Even after changing shampoos and taking supplements, my hair continues to lose strength, so I am eventually turning to medical treatment. I am having a lot of trouble deciding whether to take medication or get treatments like scalp scaling, laser therapy, or injections.
