I would like to inquire about treatment for nodular folliculitis on my jawline that is festering and bursting.
As the weather has turned chilly, I have started wearing wool scarves and thermal masks. However, perhaps due to the moisture from my breath and friction from the rough fabric, red, hard inflammatory nodules are spreading around my jawline and U-zone. Unlike typical comedonal acne where sebum comes out on the surface, these are purulent folliculitis that form deep within the skin like lumps; they throb and hurt to the touch, so I cannot even touch them. I tried using an exfoliating pad, but it only irritated the skin, causing the pus-filled breakouts to spread further. Since I cannot go without winter gear, I would like to know if anti-inflammatory injections, extraction therapy, or targeted treatments like Gold PTT or Capri Laser—which fundamentally suppress sebaceous glands and inflammatory bacteria—would be effective in alleviating this chronic folliculitis caused by bacterial proliferation around the respiratory tract and pore compression.
