What are the treatments for perioral dermatitis, a red rash that has spread to the corners of the mouth and nasolabial folds?

I started applying generous amounts of a balm-type, highly nourishing shea butter cream and face oil to combat dryness, but a few days ago, small, red papules began spreading in a band-like pattern along the skin just outside my lips and along my nasolabial folds. Unlike typical acne, there is no buildup of sebum; instead, it is accompanied by a burning sensation upon contact and a strange stinging pain that feels like the skin is tightening. When I touch it due to itching, a slight discharge forms and white flakes of dead skin appear. These symptoms are very similar to 'perioral dermatitis,' which occurs when the microbial balance around hair follicles is disrupted by the excessive use of heavy occlusive moisturizers during the dry season. I would like to inquire whether I should completely stop using my current cosmetics, if a prescription for a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ointment like Elidel or Protopic is necessary, and if LLLT low-level light therapy or soothing care at a dermatology clinic would be effective for reducing inflammation without irritation.
