Is the pain from hair removal bearable?

I'm planning to get the philtrum and chin treated, and I'm wondering if it will be very painful even with anesthetic cream. I'm worried because my beard is on the thicker side, so is the performance of the Maypure device good? I would appreciate it if those who have used it could share their thoughts.
