My mouth and the corners of my mouth look dark, so I've been using only ATE lip balm. Would it be okay if I consulted about laser toning?
Whenever the seasons change, my lips crack and white flakes appear around the corners of my mouth, so I frequently apply ATE Butter Glow Lip Balm. It feels moisturized immediately, but after an hour or two, the flakes start to flake off again. I am also concerned that the skin around my mouth and corners looks particularly dark. Thinking it was just dead skin, I tried scrubbing, but it actually made my skin red and sting, so since then, I have only been applying a thin layer of a non-irritating lip balm. I would like to know if it is possible to distinguish through a consultation whether the darkening around my mouth is simply due to dryness or if pigmentation has surfaced, and if I can receive laser toning or soothing treatments for this area as well. If I undergo the procedure, I would also like to ask if I can continue applying the lip balm, and what the anesthesia and downtime are like for the lip area.
