The melasma on both cheeks is gradually spreading. Will it fade if I get laser treatment?

Brown spots have started appearing one by one on my skin, but lately, melasma is my biggest concern.

At first, it looked like a small stain around my cheekbone, so I didn't think much of it. However, as time goes by, the color is gradually getting darker and seems to be spreading widely to both cheeks, so it bothers me every time I look in the mirror.

My skin tone looks patchy, especially in sunlight, and my freckles aren't completely covered even with makeup. It is frustrating because applying concealer multiple times actually makes the makeup look thicker, and it even starts to cake by the afternoon.

I try my best to take care of my skin, applying sunscreen meticulously and using whitening ampoules and functional creams, but it seems like the pigmentation that has already formed doesn't fade easily.

So this time, I am considering getting laser treatment for melasma at a dermatology clinic.

I looked up reviews and it seems like many people get Pico Toning or Laser Toning, but I'm curious if it is actually effective on melasma that has spread widely around the cheekbones.

I find it difficult to make a decision readily because I've heard that unlike ordinary blemishes, melasma is tricky to treat and prone to recurrence.

I would also like to know if my skin tone brightens after just one or two laser treatments, or if I need to receive consistent treatment over several sessions to see a change.

I've also heard that receiving laser treatments repeatedly can make the skin sensitive or even cause pigmentation to darken. I'm curious how to prevent these side effects.

I would also like to know what kind of home care I should do in conjunction with sun protection after melasma treatment.

Has anyone else received laser treatment at a dermatology clinic for developing melasma on their cheekbones starting in their 30s like me?

Please share an honest review regarding which laser treatment you received, how many sessions, and how much your melasma has actually faded.

Even if it's difficult to get rid of it completely, I think I would be satisfied if it improved just enough to be lightly covered with makeup. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know the treatment cost and how long the results last.
