Is laser treatment effective for treating enlarged butterfly zone pores caused by forceful squeezing?
My pores on my nose and butterfly zone have become deeply pitted and widened, resembling an orange peel, so I suffer from a severe appearance complex whenever I look in the mirror without makeup. I am seeking advice from experienced members.
I think the most painful and major cause of my enlarged pores was when I was young, ruthlessly squeezing out the dark blackheads on my nose with unwashed fingernails and abusing strong-adhesive nose strips in an attempt to completely remove them.
Even if I apply a thick layer of primer to try and cover it up with makeup now, over time it clumps up messily with sweat and sebum, and the foundation gets stuck in the deep pores, making it look even more prominent.
I heard that pores that have already widened and lost elasticity and become saggy can never be restored to their former state with topical cosmetics or home care packs, so I am thinking of actively seeking professional help through dermatological device treatments.
I have heard that skin booster treatments using fine needles or powerful lasers that finely abrade the surface of the skin are effective for shrinking enlarged pores, but there are so many types that it is very difficult for me to choose on my own.
Is it possible that the more severe the pain during the procedure and the longer the downtime—where black scabs form and you cannot even properly wash your face with water for several days—the more certain and visibly powerful the pore-tightening effect appears to the naked eye?
It is true that I am worried because I have naturally thin skin and tend to flush easily due to temperature changes, so I am concerned that if I blindly receive a very strong laser treatment, my skin barrier might break down and my flushing might worsen.
I heard that you have to consistently visit a dermatologist at least five times to see new skin gradually filling in. Please recommend a pore treatment if you found it to be the most satisfying in terms of value for the time and money invested.
I am eagerly awaiting comments from those with experience at dermatology who have successfully restored deep, scar-like pores in their butterfly zones to a smooth and firm complexion like a peeled egg. I look forward to hearing your know-how on choosing a clinic and your sincere advice.
