How much pain and frequency should I expect for laser hair removal treatments?

I am an office worker considering getting a proper laser hair removal treatment because managing my body hair in preparation for summer is such a hassle. Trying to trim it at home with a razor or tweezers every time causes my skin to get red and results in ingrown hairs, which is causing me a lot of stress.

My friends around me strongly recommended laser hair removal, saying it would open up a whole new world, so I made up my mind.

However, since I am a total crybaby and can't tolerate pain well, I am very worried about how painful the laser hair removal procedure will be. I am wondering if it will be bearable if I apply anesthetic cream.
