My makeup keeps flaking off because of my acne-prone skin. What kind of skincare should I start with?
My skin wasn't exactly great to begin with, but over the past few months, my acne seems to be getting progressively worse, so I've become really worried.
In the past, I would only get one or two before my period or when I was tired, but lately, they keep popping up repeatedly around my cheeks and chin. Just when one goes away, another one appears in a different spot. Even though I try not to touch them, they bother me so much that I keep looking in the mirror.
Above all, the most stressful thing is that my skin doesn't look pretty at all, even when I apply makeup. Even if I apply a thin layer of cushion foundation, the uneven areas remain visible, and after just a short while, patches start to cake or look like dead skin cells, making my skin feel even messier.
At home, I’ve been washing my face thoroughly, switching to gentle skincare products, and trying to cut down on greasy foods, but I haven't seen as much of a change as I expected. So now, I’m starting to think that instead of trying to manage it on my own, I should get professional skin care.
After searching online, I found that there are really many different types of acne care. Some people start with extraction, while others say they proceeded with other treatments based on their skin condition, so I'm not sure which method is generally common.
Has anyone else received treatment for recurring acne like me? I am curious to know if you thoroughly examined my skin condition during the initial consultation and if you explained in detail what kind of treatment would be suitable for my current state.
I would also like to know how many sessions it took you to feel your skin gradually stabilizing after starting the treatment. I am not expecting dramatic changes all at once, but I think I would be truly satisfied if the new acne breakouts decreased even just a little.
I am also curious if there were any specific daily habits, such as applying makeup or exercising, that I needed to be careful about while receiving treatment for acne-prone skin. If anyone has received treatment for similar concerns, please honestly share both what you were satisfied with and what you found lacking. I plan to start my own treatment based on your actual experience. Thank you :)
