Is it okay to start acne treatment even for adult acne that only pops up occasionally?
I keep agonizing over whether or not I really need to go to a dermatologist, haha.
My skin doesn't break out a lot every day. Some weeks it's really clear, making me think it's finally getting better, but then suddenly two or three pimples pop up on my chin all at once.
It feels like it gets worse especially when I'm tired or under a lot of stress, and once it flares up, the red marks last for quite a long time.
So I told my friend about it, and she suggested I try getting acne treatment if it keeps recurring.
However, since I don't have severe acne, I'm hesitating because I'm worried I might be starting overly intensive skincare for no reason haha.
Is there anyone here who has started acne treatment, even though it only flares up occasionally like mine?
I am wondering if acne treatment is recommended only for people with severe breakouts. I would also like to know if people who want to manage their condition proactively before scars form tend to receive the treatment.
I am also curious whether it is better to visit the doctor only when acne breaks out, or if there is a way to prevent it by consistently managing it even when the skin is relatively fine.
When my skin is okay, my makeup applies well and I don't feel much discomfort, but once it breaks out, I get so stressed for several days.
Are there any of you who feel that your erratic skin condition has stabilized a little after receiving acne treatment?
I'm also wondering if it would be better to get a consultation sooner if it's the type that leaves marks.
There are so many reviews online about severe skin conditions that it's hard to find experiences similar to mine.
My adult acne isn't severe, but it keeps recurring. If anyone has started acne treatment, please let me know your satisfaction level and how you managed it!! I am also considering getting a consultation first.
