How can I fix my habit of sleeping on my side and deepening neck wrinkles? ㅠㅠ
Hello Maypure family~ I'm leaving a question out of sheer frustration, wondering if anyone else shares similar concerns about their lifestyle habits. I absolutely cannot sleep lying flat on my back, facing the ceiling. I have a bad habit where I can only fall asleep by turning onto my side in a fetal position or lying face down with my face buried in the pillow. When I was younger in my 20s, waking up wasn't a problem, but now that I'm in my mid-30s, this is compounded by a loss of facial elasticity and is causing a massive ripple effect...
When I wake up in the morning and look in the bathroom mirror, I can see very distinct pillow marks etched all over my cheeks, around my eyes, and on my nasolabial folds. In the past, these marks would smooth out quickly by the time I washed my face and got ready for work, but these days, they don't disappear even after lunchtime at the office. ㅠㅠ It is in moments like this that I painfully realize just how my skin's elasticity isn't what it used to be.
What’s even more shocking is that perhaps because I sleep on my side every night with my neck folded, I suddenly noticed that I had incredibly deep horizontal wrinkles. I stared intently in the mirror every day, slathering on expensive skincare to take care of my face, but I neglected my neck, and now the lines have become thick and distinct, like tree rings, which makes me so upset. Covering it up with a scarf or turtleneck has its limits depending on the season, so I feel like I ultimately need to fix my sleeping posture. Has anyone successfully corrected their sleeping position? If I switch to a cervical pillow or a functional pillow that is heavily advertised these days, will I be forced to sleep in a proper position, even if it means forcing myself?
Or, since the deep neck wrinkles that have already formed don't seem like they can be resolved just by diligently applying neck cream and massaging, I am really struggling to decide if I should look into neck-specific treatments like Juvelook or Ultherapy. If you have any great tips for fixing sleeping habits or secrets for smoothing out neck wrinkles, please, please share them with me! Haha ㅠㅠ
