Is it okay to wear a mask for a long time after laser treatment?
I'm thinking of getting laser treatment at a dermatology clinic, but I'm worried because I have to wear a mask for long periods due to the nature of my job.
Since I often wear a mask for more than 8 hours a day, my face frequently gets hot and the area around my mouth becomes humid. However, I heard that the skin can become sensitive after a laser procedure, so I am worried about whether it is okay for the mask to keep touching my skin.
In particular, if the mask repeatedly touches my cheeks and chin when I speak or move, won't the redness last a long time or irritate my skin?
If possible, I plan to get the procedure after work on Friday, recover over the weekend, and return to work on Monday. I am wondering if two days of rest would be enough.
I would also like to know how to change the mask frequently or reduce friction on the parts that touch the skin. After the procedure, I plan to minimize makeup and focus on sunscreen and moisturizer; would this be helpful?
The recovery period may vary depending on the type of laser, but it is difficult to avoid wearing a mask for long periods due to my job.
Has anyone else received laser treatment while wearing a mask continuously at work, like I did? I would appreciate it if you could share your actual experience—whether you experienced any discomfort returning to work the very next day, and what skincare you did to minimize irritation!
