Are there any great tips to get the most out of blemish treatments that remove dark freckles?

I simply can't stand the freckles and age spots scattered all over my face like sesame seeds, so I plan to get rid of them completely this winter. Since my skin is quite thin, I am scared about whether I can withstand the laser treatment to burn off the blemishes, but for the sake of clear skin, I intend to just close my eyes and endure it.
I’ve heard that while the procedure itself is important, aftercare is truly crucial. How can I maximize the effects of the blemish treatment and prevent scarring? I’m wondering if I can achieve perfectly clear skin if I follow the clinic’s instructions exactly, applying plenty of regenerating cream and strictly adhering to UV protection.
I’m wondering if there is a synergistic effect if I combine Vitamin C care with blemish treatment. Please share your solid know-how!
