By any chance, will the hard ear keloid near my outer ear shrink if I get an injection? ㅠㅠ

I got my ears re-pierced last year, but I must not have taken good care of it. As it healed, the area behind the piercing started swelling up—hard, red, and like a grape. I looked it up and it looks like a keloid scar. I'm terrified because I heard it could get bigger if left alone. I can't wear earrings, and it's so stressful because that spot stands out every time I look in the mirror. If I go to a dermatologist and get steroid injections (scar injections), will the size shrink significantly without surgery? I've seen reviews saying the injections are incredibly painful, so I'm hesitant to go to the clinic. If anyone has experience with this treatment, please leave a comment with your real review.
