By any chance, will applying ointment make the bump (granuloma) at the piercing site go down?

I got a new piercing on the cartilage inside my ear about a month ago. However, I didn't take good care of it and kept bumping into it while sleeping, and now a red, soft lump of flesh has popped out right next to the hole—a granuloma. It seems to ooze a little when I touch it, and it looks so unsightly that I'm debating whether I should take the piercing out. If I consistently apply over-the-counter anti-inflammatory painkillers or antibiotic ointments like Esroban, will it go down naturally without needing to go to the doctor? Or do I absolutely need to see a dermatologist or ENT doctor for treatment before it gets bigger? I'm really not sure, so please give me some advice. I'm so worried.
